Relationship coaching for men: where can you find intimacy coaching?

Answered by Juliette Karaman, intimacy and touch expert.

The short answer

Men can find relationship coaching for men with Juliette Karaman, an intimacy and touch expert in the UK, through The Unspoken Distance guide in the app or a one to one Men’s VIP Day. Good coaching teaches you to read your partner’s body in the moment, because technique lands at the wrong second when you cannot see what is happening in the room.

A man once asked me a question on a Zoom call. He had read my first essay for men, watched the reels and spent the morning thinking about his partner. He asked it plainly: teach me what to look for.

He did not ask what to do. He asked what to see. That distinction is the entire conversation, and it is the first thing to look for in any relationship coaching for men. If you cannot read the body in front of you, the right move lands at the wrong second and you are left wondering what you did wrong. You did nothing wrong. The body had moved before the script started.

What should relationship coaching for men teach?

It should teach you to read your partner’s body in the moment, because attunement lives in the specific and vague advice keeps you outside the room.

Here is the first thing I would hand over. Watch her breath, not her face. A relaxed exhale has a soft drop at the end and the shoulders fall with it. When something reads as a possible threat, the exhale stops dropping and the chest stays slightly lifted. Nothing visible moves. Her body has started bracing before she has noticed.

  1. Notice the held breath. It is the window before the brace shows.
  2. Drop your own breath. One long, quiet exhale that softens your shoulders.
  3. Say nothing. Do not ask what is wrong. Let your body offer a different reference point.

A body tracks the body beside it faster than the mind catches up. I wrote the full field guide in What Her Body Is Telling You.

Why does trying harder not close the distance?

Because the work that moves things is happening underneath the part you can see. You can understand the distance, even when you cannot effort your way out of it.

The men who write to me are reaching. They show up. What they have never been given is a way to see what a body is doing when they reach.

That is why The Unspoken Distance starts with understanding and moves into your own body, so that you can settle before you reach for your partner instead of reaching from tension.

To see where the pattern starts, read why a wife tenses up under her husband’s touch.

Can a man do this without his partner?

Yes. The shift in your partner comes from the shift in you, so you can start on your own.

The Unspoken Distance and the Men’s VIP Day are both just for you.

Can men do relationship coaching online?

Yes. The Men’s VIP Day runs online by video call or in person in East Sussex, and The Unspoken Distance lives in the app wherever you are.

You already know the right move. Another year of arriving a second late, and the question is what that costs the two of you.
