I call my VIP days Scrumptious Experiences, because scrumptious is a feeling, that life chi, that state we get access to. A fellow coach asked me recently what a VIP day even is. It is not only for celebrities, though a few of my clients are. It is the feeling I want to invoke: that you are the only person who has my full attention for that day, or for a longer stretch. Some are one day, some are two or three days, some are longer retreats.
The Niggle Behind a Full Life
Many of my clients live an extraordinary life with access to almost anything they want, and still there is a niggle. The love is there, and the intimacy, the sensuality, the sexuality may have gone quiet. With a couple, we look at what is in the way. With one person, we can map the body and ask how we actually receive pleasure, and what stands between us and receiving it. We become detectives. Has there been an intense experience? What is happening emotionally, physically, hormonally? All of it changes the way in.
Learning to Receive
One VIP flew in from Dubai, a high-net-worth man leading a large company, and I will leave it there, because I am always discreet about who I work with. He is always so much in charge. For him, the whole thing was to learn to receive, to experience what it is to let someone else take the reins. You see this often in people at the top: they are tired of constantly holding everything and making every decision, and in private they long to simply let go.
In his culture he was raised to be the provider, to take care of siblings, of the woman, of everyone. Without that role, he did not even know what he wanted. So through the day I had it all covered. He arrived, handed me his phone, and let go. A man used to control received attention, a massage, some bodywork for the niggles in his back, and a day planned entirely for him. Through hypnosis we went back to childhood and found what had been holding him back. Over a slow lunch I said little, letting him integrate, bringing his attention back to his body and to tasting every morsel. He told me that in decades of extraordinary food, he had never been present enough to truly taste a meal until that day.
The Body Never Lies
In the afternoon we turned to what his soul was calling him toward. Not more deals or more money, but more time, and more attention turned inward. Through hypnosis and my method we honed in on what he wanted from his relationship with himself, what was stopping him, and what he wanted more of. He left with a three-point plan. He now runs a charity that helps children through school and university, something rooted in his own grandfather's story as an immigrant with little schooling. His soul had been asking him to be that beam for others.
Every experience is different. With one client we did a beautiful medicine journey over several days, with a shaman I trust. With another I brought a photographer to Paris, and a woman who had seen only a blob in the mirror came to love how she looks in her fifties, seeing the voluptuous, gorgeous woman who had been there all along. That was two days of pleasure mapping, getting to know where her body likes to receive.
Here is how the mapping works. I have clients practice self-touch, fully clothed, moving through the pathways: energetic, sensual, sexual, perhaps what feels taboo, and the shapeshifter who holds a little of all of them. Start on the inside of the arm. Do we like energetic touch, hovering just off the skin, moving up? What does it feel like when a partner does the same? We map the whole body this way. It teaches that the way in is far different from what the mind assumes, because the body never lies. It reveals what truly excites, in a caught breath or goosebumps on the shoulders. That is what makes you a pleasure detective, and with couples it is where you learn to play inside each other's blueprint.
"Don't we all want to be heard, seen, understood, and loved? A VIP day is a rapid, deep result, with complete attention on your body, your mind, your soul, and then the essence that is you."
